About this event

Unconventional horizontal drilling and completions in the Marcellus has a relatively short history in Pennsylvania, beginning in the early 2000s. Numerous technological advances have been made in a brief period to make the process more efficient and effective. One of the largest learning curves has been the adoption of these technological advances while instilling a culture of safety in this fast-paced industry. Operators have used multiple techniques to enhance worker safety, while observing stringent regulations and reporting requirements.

This seminar will include a comprehensive overview of the new advances in SimOps Technologies in Appalachia and will cover how to develop and foster a culture of safety. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protections (PA DEP) will provide an update on their Well Plugging Program as a result of funding through the Federal Infrastructure and Jobs Act. Finally, MSC subject matter experts will provide a series of short presentations on well plugging case studies.
